My New PTC Sites!

If you have any questions, please feel free to post a comment. I will do my best to reply with an answer.

Here are some new PTC sites that Im using. All have pretty decent ads daily and easy to follow. You will notice that a few of these sites have an option for "Rented Referrals", which allow you to rent an unknown user for a period of 30 days. These are really a crap shoot, cause all you know is your getting someone who clicked ads in the last 24 hours. This approach generally doesnt yield decent results, so just make sure you work on getting Direct Referrals. Here we go:

1). Clixsense - This is really a great site, with a nice layout. Their ads roll throughout the day, so unlike the ones below, there isn't a set number you get per day. I don't have all day to click, but I have gotten 20-30 in a day before. They have some ads that are .02 cents, but I don't see those very often. There is a good number of .01 cent ads and many many in the .005 to .001 range. The one thing about this site, you have to stay on the page for the full amount of time to gain credit. This kinda stinks for the us clicking the ad, but this is great for Clixsense's advertisers. I believe this type of thing will keep them coming back. They also have a game called Clixgrid, where you have 25 clicks per day, to click on boxes in a grid. You have the chance to win up to $5.00. They also have a survey site that is associated with them, that I have been getting a good number of surveys from. Minimum payout is $10.00 and they have several options for payment including Paypal and Alertpay. In short, if you use any of these sites, Clicksense is most definitely worth a look.
Use my link! :)

2). Yakbux - They are running a .15cent signup bonus right now and have up to .02 cents per click. Minimum payout is $2.00. Alertpay is preferred, but also has a small fee attached. Paypal is not an option. Click here to use my referral link.

3). Infinitybux - Infinitybux has been around for awhile now. This site has a pretty good number of daily ads, even for the "Free" account users. They pay up to .01 cent per ad and have a decent number of those. Minimum payout of $10.00, and they prefer Alertpay. They also have Liberty Reserve, but no Paypal options. If interested in checking it out, Click here for my link.

Points2Shop (P2S)

This site is pretty interesting.  I don't use it as much as I used to, but its definitely legit.  Literally thousands of items to pick from.

You get 250 points to sign up. Can order things right off the bat, or use it as a nice building block. 100 points = $1 to use on Amazon. They have a really nice shoutbox that usually has a mod answering questions and the Admins also are active in it. The forums are also very active and helpful. 1 Account per IP (They are very strict on this). When you sign up for P2S, you also get an account on Cashle.com which is just like P2S, except instead of receiving points, you receive cash. I received my first prize from P2S today.

SayNation Payment Proof

After about 4 weeks, I received my SayNation $25 payment to paypal. Took longer than other sites, but their policy says orders take 2-6 weeks. So, I can now say that this one is also legit.

If interested in signing up, here is my referral.

SayNation

For surveys I've been using a site called SayNation. You get points for surveys (Normally around 1,000 - 3,000 points per survey, but some are higher). You also get points for the profile surveys you do when you first sign up. They will get you your first couple thousand points. You can cash out to gift cards or a $25 paypal deposit (Takes 29,000 points). I have requested payment to my paypal account and their site says 2-6 weeks for processing, so as soon as I get that, I will add that to the list of proofs as well. They have a pretty steady flow of surveys everyday that come to my email, not that I qualify for them all, but there doesn't seem to be any shortage of possible surveys to take.

Out of the Ordinary

I wanted to make a tech related blog, but felt like going in a little different direction with this post. I've been thinking a lot about life in general, especially with the way the job market is right now. I saw on the news the other day about how a small town school in my state had an opening for a custodian. At the time of the news story, they had received over 800 applications. 800 for a custodian! I am by no means trying to belittle that job, but that's just unreal to me. Especially since the school was in a small town.

Then I started to realize how fortunate I really am to have a job. You will never hear me say I'm not thankful that the Lord gave me the job I have now, my house, my family, and everything else that we have. But, I don't think (OK I know), I didn't realize just how truly blessed I am. The company I work for is going through a pretty major downsizing, so I'm just playing it by ear right now, but hey I'm still employed at the moment. The bad thing is, there is so much speculation and new rumors everyday. You just wish you knew one way or the other. I started searching around on the internet for jobs in my field and became quickly depressed. It really is slim pickings.

However, over the last few days I have felt at peace with it. I know that whatever happens, the Lord will take care of us, just like he always has. I will leave you with this story:

Shortly after my wife and I got married, I was working in a $7/hr job. I had to have emergency appendix surgery (the surgeon told me later that I had less than 2 hours before it burst). The infection was bad enough that I had to heal from the inside out. The job I was working in was a heavy lifting type job, so the doctor told me I wouldn't be working for at least a month. I became scared real quickly. Short Term Disability takes a few weeks to kick in, $7/hr is not much, then take 60% of that and I knew we were going to be in trouble, financially.

A few weeks went by and the bills were coming due. We were going to be short, and no matter how we looked at the finances, there was just no way we were going to be able to pay them. We kept trying and trying to move stuff around, nothing. We finally just said God your going to have to help us somehow. Help us see something that we're not seeing now.

Then we got a knock on the door (it happened to be a Sunday morning), and lo and behold there was the Pastor of our church (Just so happens the pastor is my Grandpa, and hes a good one too!). He handed me an envelope and said they had taken up an offering to help us during this time. I couldn't believe it, and when we took the money back inside the house, we checked the amount. There was exactly the right amount, to the penny, of what we needed to pay our bills. To me and my wife, that was awesome. Something we still talk about to this day.

So, every time I start to get nervous about my current job, I'm reminded of that time in my life. The Lord will protect us, the Lord will provide. Its the trust and putting our faith into his hands that us humans have such a hard time with. Its amazing what God can do for us, if we will just let him!

World of PTC

PTC (Paid To Click) are growing in popularity pretty rapidly. These sites will pay you to click on their ads. Most sites will offer up to .02 cents per ad (For the Free/Standard account). Doesn't seem like much does it? If you can refer some of your friends to use your referral link, you can get a percentage of their clicks. Of course the more referrals, the more money (Referrals are big in PTCs).

How do you tell which is legit and which isn't? One easy way is to see how much they say they will pay you to click their links. The old adage of "if it sounds to good to be true, it probably isn't", can be applied to PTC websites. The legit ones are not here to make you rich overnight. It is however a nice way to get a little money here and there. There are people with some pretty wild success stories, or those that have massive amounts of active referrals, that may make some pretty good amounts of money. But, just like the commercials, in size 2 font no less, "Results not typical".

Also, if you have to pay to join, no matter how great it sounds, be very cautious. I always wondered why they don't let you join for free, then as you make some money, they could take some of your profits out for their cut. I would be more interested in joining something like that, then having to pay to learn the so-called 'secret'.

Good Luck! If you sign up to any of these listed on my site, drop me a line with any questions.  I'll do my best to answer them.

Free Software Gems

So-called free software is everywhere. Searching the net usually yields spyware ridden downloads, or just another trial software that runs out in 15-30 days.

I've decided to compile some of my favorites, hopefully they can help you out:

If you use the Windows operating system, you know how easily it is for your drive to get fragmented. Next time you install Windows, before you install any of your programs or data, look at how fragmented it is. Crazy that your running such a fragmented system right from the get go. Windows built in defragmenter just doesn't do the job well. JkDefrag is a great utility and totally free. It also defrags USB drives, floppy disks, pretty much whatever looks like a drive. It also optimizes the drive, after defragging. Running in safe mode provides the best results.

This one can go either Windows or Linux, if you use Ubuntu Linux it comes with the install. This program works very much like Microsoft Office and will even open up Office files. Take a look at OpenOffice, very easy to use and best of all free!

Speaking of Ubuntu Linux, this is in my opinion the most user friendly edition for users thinking of making the switch from Windows. If your not ready to make the total switch to Linux, Ubuntu will allow you to dual boot your system (by using free space on your hard drive), so you can keep your Windows OS in tact as you learn Ubuntu. Want to download, but have a slow connection? No problem, they will ship you a CD with Ubuntu for free.

Dexpot is a really nice Virtual Desktop manager for Windows. It works much better and is more flexible than the Virtual Desktop manager that is included with PowerToys for Microsoft. Dexpot allows you to have up to 20 desktops, but I would get confused using that many. For work, I usually use 2-3.

Need a photo editor? The people over at GIMP have your back. It has many features, so check it out.

For those that are still using Internet Explorer, please take a strong look at switching to Firefox. More secure and much less buggy than IE, this is the only way to surf. Plus you can enhance it to your own liking with all the add-ins they provide.

If your like me, I open up applications that I use daily in a specific order. If the application crashes or is inadvertently closed, I wish I had a way to get them back in order, in the taskbar. Taskbar Shuffle is a nifty little tool that will allow you to re-arrange your taskbar items. This is definitely something Windows should have built in.

Would you like to stream audio/video from your PC to your Xbox360 or PS3? Then you have to check out TVersity. This app is really easy to setup and use. The PS3 takes a little effort to get going initially, but it works just perfect on the 360.

This little utility will work hand in hand with whatever Antivirus software you are currently using. It updates on its own and just gives you a little more protection against malware and virus's. Head on over to ThreatFire's website for more info.

Do you like football? Then you got to check out this Football MMORPG, its a blast! --> Goal Line Blitz

That about wraps it up for the few nice applications/utilities that are out there for you to use. Plus they are actually free to use. Hopefully, you will be able to put some of these to use. If you do decide to use the applications listed here, please help the creators out and donate to them.
